does this headset exist ?
Im in the market for a 2 channel headset.
I run guildwars on my gaming rig and i want to run TS or Vent on my other comp that i also use to surf gw guru while im playing. My question is can i use my guildwars headset to listen to the game. How would i use another headset to chat on vent without wearing two headsets at the same time. PS I need to use headsets because i play all hours of the day and night so i dont want to wake anyone. Does anyone make a dual channel headset ? |

Not that I'm aware of, but my setup uses a standard 5.1 setup for the game, volumn down low so as to not bother anyone and then a USB based logitech headphone/mic combo for ts/vent. Works great, you can configure them to use the USB sound 'card' or the normal sound card for input/output.

It would be simpler if you could route your TS audio into your primary PC first, then simply use a headset on that pc. What inputs do you have on that pc?

Well, my main gaming rig is a custom p4 intel board, intel 2ghz chip has a soundblaster sound card and a g4 6800 ultra 256 mb card 1 gig of ram.
- has usb ports, but i use the soundblaster for my headset, works well with TS and Vent (although i often hear some people saying something about soundblaster and vent) ok, my other rig is a p4 del optilex 2.8ghz 1 gig ram with an onboard graphics(not sure what my graphics are for this , its onboard) Anyway, i have now set up my del so i can surf and i want to run my voice chat on the del- both my rigs share one cable modem and are linked by a router. I have never had lag issues running guild wars while surfing the net and talking on vent.(well once, but we were in fissure and all hell was breaking loose, and i got a lock up) Thats not my concern, i just want to use my del for surfing the net, mainly GW guru while playing - no more windows key. Just that if i want to use my headset, i have to pick one rig to use it on. How can i use one heaset and get game sound from one rig, and voice comm from the other rig without wearing two headsets ? |

Here's something you might not have thought of: does your gaming rig have an audio-out? Most likely. Simply route that out into an input in your other machine, and voila.
I game with a similar setup: my laptop (o_O) runs GW and my desktop runs TS/Vent/my tv/a small city/etc. It takes a bit of tweaking, but once you get it right you're golden |
